Bruce Race has made significant contributions to award-winning projects, publications and research as a principal in other companies. He continued to emphasize innovation in his own practice. Since founding RACESTUDIO in Berkeley, CA in 1994, he has received 32 design and planning awards including national awards from the American Institute of Architects, American Planning Association, Environmental Protection Agency and Society of College and University Planning. Mr. Race has continued to write and teach for professional organizations. On behalf of the American Planning Association (APA), Dr. Race co-authored a book providing planners and educators case studies and methods for getting young people involved in the planning process. He currently serves on the ICE Urban Design and Advisory Editorial Board and is co-editor for an upcoming special issue on urban design education.
